ABOUT SUSHMA SINGHVI

  "During the early years of life, I used to get extremely disturbed when I saw elders looking down on children of beggars, drivers, security guards and others not as fortunate as us. Those kids were around the same age as me, had similar aspirations and were carefree in spirit. What was their fault? Just that they were born into underprivileged families? What upset me even more was that it was the so-called educated and elite around me who indulged in such pathetic acts. The purpose of education, in my opinion, was and is to broaden our horizons and not to narrow our vision. Needless to say, I lost all respect for such people who differentiated between innocent children on the basis of their social status. My heart broke every time I witnessed the pains such children went thorough due to ostracism by society.
